BC Transit Set To Launch Re-designed Website & Rolls Out New Double Decker Busses in Victoria (B.C.)
BC Transit Brings More Joy To The Riders As Transit Invests Millions Into Re-Designing Website & Rolling Out Double Decker Bus Services in the Victoria (British Columbia).
BC Transit (March 17, 2026) (British Columbia): BC Transit has recently annouced to revamp its efforts to launch a newly crafted website redesigned to make it easier for riders/passengers to plan trips and easily get the information they need for the travels. This annoucement is made in light to the survey data analysis inputs received from British Columbians. The Transit Corporation has partnered with BC's Provincial Governement to launch this program to bring more ease to British Columbians. The official budget released for this Website Redesign Project is $3.8 Million. The Project is set to be completed in two phases as per the latest news from Transit Corporation i.e., re-platforming the website a new content management system and acquiring a new hosting provider. The Transit is set to finalize a date for the Re-design program in later March.
Amongst many other investments to improve the transit in BC. BC Transit has annouced first roll-out of Two-Double Decker Busses out of 39 Busses in Victoria (British Columbia).

According to the official statement BC Transit suggests, "The new Enviro 500 model Alexander Dennis buses will help customers move through high-demand routes, like the 95 Blink RapidBus, which has over 11,000 daily boardings, efficiently connecting people from Langford, Colwood, View Royal and Saanich to Victoria and back." The funding of the project was through Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), with approximate contributions each from the Government of Canada ($20.99M), Province of British Columbia ($21.89M), and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission ($12.4M) for a total of $55.3M as well as with the help of a cost-sharing agreement between the Province of British Columbia ($8.4M) and the Victoria Regional Transit Commission ($12.0M) for a total of $20.4M.
Will Greaves (Member of Parliament for Victoria) has quoted, "We’re proud to mark the arrival of these new double‑decker buses, which will boost capacity, improve reliability, and enhance the overall transit experience for people across the region. This investment underscores our commitment to sustainable, accessible transportation and to supporting efforts to ensure that communities in Victoria are served by a modern, dependable transit system."
