Amazon Business Closes Its Business Credit Card Relationship with American Express & Form A New Alliance with Mastercard and U.S. Bank
Amazon (Seattle, Washington) (March 31, 2026): Amazon has moved its credit card services from American Express to U.S. Bank (with Mastercard) and will be coming back to its current card holder with more services to offer coming end to this spring. Amazon Business Credit Cards or Amazon Business Prime Cards which were previously part of American Express co-brand credit card offering will now be issued by U.S. Bank & Mastercard. American Express has also issued a Notice To Its Current Cardholders which outlines an estimated Replacement Date for the bank credit to be August 14th, 2026 as the business bank Terms & Conditions changes take effect after the transition. This marks as first collaboration of U.S Bank Credit Card selection with Mastercard network while offering Amazon Business Credit Cards.
Amazon Business credit cards are selected offering by Amazon Business to its Business Customers which are part of Amazon Business Network. The highlighting features of the Credit Cards are: Amazon Prime Business Credit Card holders receiving 5% Cash back on Amazon purchases, Amazon Fresh and Whole Food purchases (No Annual Fee). Amazon Business Card customers receives benefit of getting 3% Cash back without a Prime Membership with same vendors as Prime card (No Annual Fee). The cards do come with a 1% of reward limit after a spending limit of $150,000.

Amazon, Mastercard & U.S. Bank joint news release suggest that more details will be provided by American Express and U.S. Bank as the transition takes place in coming months. Additonal changes, new cards, and information will be shared with the current and new card holders signing up for the business credit cards. At the moment, the company has advised the Business & Prime Business Members to use the American Express credit cards same as before with existing benefits, before banks rolls out the new terms and conditions.
