Netflix Animation Studios Now Has A New, Bigger & Creative Home In Vancouver City
Netflix Inaugurates Netflix Animation Studios (NAS) in Vancouver, British Columbia
Netflix (Vancouver, British Columbia) (April 08, 2026): Netflix officially open its doors to 110,600 sq. ft. Netflix Animation Studios (NAS) in Vancouver. This landmark opening was celebrated in presence of Hon. Marc Miller (Minister of Heritage, Canada), Hon. Brenda Bailey (Minister of Finance, British Columbia), Hon. David Eby (Premier of British Columbia), Dan Lin (Chairman of Film, Netflix), Hannah Minghella (Head of Feature Animation and Family Film, Netflix), Hon. Anne Kang (Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports, British Columbia), Deputy Mayor Sarah Kirby-Yung (Vancouver) and other delegations who joined the inaugural ceremony. The multistory studio office will be a integrated workplace for Netflix's Vancouver employees including in-house VFX studio and Eyeline to bring together the teams behind the animation and visual effects.

Hannah Minghella (Head of Feature Animation and Family Film, Netflix) shared her remarks as,
"This is an exciting new chapter for our studio. Our new Vancouver hub is an investment in the long-term growth of Netflix Animation Studios globally and reflects our ongoing commitment to make original animated movies for fans around the world."
Amir Nasrabadi (Chief Operating Officer, Netflix Animation Studios) has said, "We’re excited to be working on the upcoming film, Steps, from our new studio. Vancouver is home to some of the world’s most incredible talent, and we’re lucky to have many of them in our studio. We’re proud of what we’ve created here and even more excited about the work to come."
David Eby (Premier of British Columbia) via his social media accounts has said, "This facility will create hundreds of good-paying jobs and bring over $100M to BC’s economy – all while producing the movies and shows we all love to enjoy."

According to Netflix News Release article, "More than 450 people have worked at NAS Vancouver along with construction of studio which lead to a contribution of $50M (CAD) to BC's GDP. The ongoing operations and studio workforce will have an ongoing impact on the province’s GDP, to the tune of $100M CAD annually."
The Netflix Animations' (Vancouver) current focus is on animation feature movie Steps, a reimagined story of Cinderella's sisters with Ali Wong, Stephanie Hsu and Amanda Seyfried voicing the lead roles. This movie project is one of the biggest upcoming movie project for Netflix Animation Team (Vancouver) who has worked and successfully delivered some of the great animation movies including Leo (Global Top 10 English Film, #1 in 62 Countries), Thelma the Unicorn (Global Top 10 English Film, Top 10 in 72 countries). Some other large scale movie title which are currently in production or have been produced at Netflix Vancouver are TIME OUT, Remarkably Bright Creatures (Releasing May 8) and Crew Girl.
A prominent team in a global hub which is contributing to BC & Canada's Movie and Animation industry at a highlighting scale has now found itself a bigger and creative home. The joyful waves are seen evidently as a world-class animation studio open doors to the world.
